Founded in Germany in the 60’s, it honors the Virgen del Rocío. Recognized as “Public Utility”, it has its own headquarters and a temple in Molino de la Vega since 1998, exemplifying its devotion and rociero spirit rooted in the city.
The Real e Ilustre Hermandad del Rocío de Huelva is a religious community established in 1962, which renders devotion to the Virgen del Rocío and participates in the annual pilgrimage to the village of Almonte. Its headquarters hosts key events such as the Triduum, the Main Function of Institute and the inauguration of the Brotherhood President and Government Board.
La Milagrosa Church in Huelva is a neo-Gothic example built between 1923 and 1929. It stands out for its Gothic architecture, stained glass windows and the image of Our Lady Star of the Sea. Its facade has Gothic elements and has been the subject of reconstruction projects.
The Santa María de Gracia Convent is located on the side of the centrally located Plaza de las Monjas, where there was once an Arab necropolis. On 25 March 1510 the congregation of nuns whose aims were the glory of God in silence, prayer and sacrifice began their cloistered life under the protection of Doña Elvira de Guzmán y Maldonado, Countess of Niebla.
The parish church of La Purísima was built by the private wish of Cristóbal Dorantes, Alderman of the Villa de Huelva, member of one of the most powerful families of the social oligarchy of Huelva in the first quarter of the 16th century.
It is currently declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, with the category of Monument.
